Most folks when they decide to travel full-time, they end up giving up their pull-behind toys. That’s one of the great benefits of having a truck camper – you can take your toys with! But, we don’t always carry it around. We’ll explain a bit during our trip to Sturgeon Bay when we fish for Walleye!
π»βΊWHERE WE STAYEDβΊπ»:
- Tranquil Timbers (Thousand Trails) – This is a private, primarily seasonal resort that also had transient sites available. Swimming pool, small but useable laundry facility, quiet & peaceful campground. We bought a Thousand Trails membership mainly because of this location (it would have cost more to just reserve 2 weeks here). Electric and water hookups with dump site (though you can get a dump-out service if needed). Would definitely stay here again.

- Waterfront Mary’s – Cherry Mojito was good, but the wait was pretty long. They do have a fish boil but we didn’t attend. Beautiful outdoor dining on the water, though.

- Potawatami State Park – a really great boat ram & fish cleaning area. Would have loved to stay here but we couldn’t find a site available with electric (our trolling motor has 3 12V batteries, so would be challenging to charge overnight without electric).
- Chaudoirs Dock Boat Launch – Really well-maintained and busy boat launch to the lower portion of Green Bay. $7 boat launch fee. BEAUTIFUL sunsets!
- Sturgeon Bay Charter Fishing – we went out with Kyle and enjoyed an evening catching and learning about how to Walleye Fish! \
- Howie’s Tackle – Very helpful folks here, we got set up for Walleye fishing at what we thought was a reasonable price. They also shared suggestions on where to fish based upon reports. Good place to go over your entertainment budget for the month!
