You’re supposed to change oil in your LP generator after your first 20 hours or 1 year. Let’s just say we’re a bit late. But better late than never – we’re doing our change now and we’ll take you along to see if this is a job that you might want to tackle yourself.
STUFF WE BOUGHT
Since we had purchased fuel lines from Cummins, we decided to purchase the spark plug, filter and oil from them as well. As Gary mentions in the video, the cost wasn’t any different and it was good to get them all at the same time.
You can call Cummins directly to verify which parts you need by using their phone number: 1-800-CUMMINS.
We’d recommend confirming whether these will fit your Onan – just have your serial number for your unit and they can help. For reference, ours was a 2017 generator – The SN starts with an “I” and the next 2 digits are the year it was made.
Onan Spark Plug – 167-1652 $15.46 |
Onan Air Filter – A030Y328 $15.04 |
