Our choice to take the road less traveled sure paid off – we found the BEST way to see a lot of southern Oregon and Nevada. Our journey was filled with stunning views, unexpected wildlife encounters, and – of course- a little bit of getting lost along the way.
Stuff We Used
Hovsco Scooter- This thing was fun to try out on our excursions. This did help a bit when we were unsure of a road – just pop this out and take it for a ride to check out potential camp spots.

Where We StayedβΊπΊοΈπ
Big Spring Reservoir Campground (Middle of Nowhere, NV)(iOverlander)
This was a great find – this was a dry reservoir for a while but when we visited, there was water and a TON of ducks.
There were several easy campsites parallel to the reservoir. The biggest challenge is the washboard road to the campground. But even large vehicles can make it.
Washoe Lake State Park (Washoe, NV)
Tahoe Valley Campground (Thousand Trails)(East Lake Tahoe, CA)
Where We Ate π½οΈπ
Lake Tahoe AleworX (East Lake Tahoe, CA)
Pizza was good, beer selection was awesome, but you do pay by the ounce – drink wisely! π
