I like to think that all of these hikes are improving our strength and distance for longer trails (usually thought when I’m not hiking, ha!). Although we may not show it enough on these trails, we are both pushing ourselves every time even though we’re both panting, sweating, and red as Rudolph’s nose when climbing.
But this one. This one had me guessing whether I could seriously make it back or not.
Cloudland Canyon State Park
We stayed at Cloudland Canyon State Park for 4 nights and really enjoyed the area. In our previous video, we shared our trip on the West Rim Loop and the Bear Creek Backcountry trail. They were breathtaking due to both the scenery and the hills and boulders you have to climb!
Falls Trail & Sitton Gulch Trail 1-2 Punch
Well, we only had a few short days to hike around Cloudland Canyon since it does seem to be a pretty popular place. We decided that combining a few trails may be the best route, and the total trail length was less than 8 miles, so it should be doable.
One thing to remember is that there is some distance between the campground (or parking lot, if you choose) and the actual trail. While it may not be a lot, pushing yourself on hikes and then having to get back to your RV can be a bit challenging. Bring enough water too!
I’m so glad we went on this trail, though. Such beauty packed in a “small” area. It’s worth a try. But keep some energy stored for those stairs back up!
Our Camping Locations
If you’re interested in seeing all of the places we’ve stayed in 2022, I’m keeping a (mostly) updated list on Google Maps by Month. Enjoy!
