While I certainly love our electric fireplace in our truck camper, one thing I could not STAND is that very loud beep every time I turned it on or moved to a different setting. I swear that thing could be heard for miles!

And with me as an early riser and Gary someone who can easily sleep until noon, it was always my job to turn up the heat in the morning. *NOT* a great thing when Gary is also a kind of light sleeper.
So, I went through the tasks of figuring out how to disable this sucker. There are multiple ways to do this, but I took the less invasive route – stab it until it’s (nearly) dead. Ha!
This option will not fully eliminate the beep but will reduce it to a MUCH more tolerable level. Now Gary can’t even hear the beep when he has his noisemaker on by the bed.
Great for me when I want to get those toes warmed up on a cold fall evening!
This is a relatively simple fix that mainly requires dis-assembling and stabbing of said feature. OF COURSE, make sure to unplug the fireplace and let it set awhile – there are capacitors on this board and I didn’t really look to see how long it takes to dissipate.
Enjoy!
